Production Assistant Full Time5412 Research Dr, Huntington Beach, CA 92649Job Description: Reports To: Production Manager and/or Production Supervisor. The Production Assistant is responsible for machine set-up and operation including, but not limited to: set-up, tear down, repair, maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting.Pay:This is an hourly position with wages starting at $22 and pays up to $28, based on experience and qualifications.Schedule:Workdays: 2nd shift: Monday Thursday, 2:30 PM-1:00 AMCandidate must be able to train Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 3:30 PM for the first 1-3 months of employment.Benefits:Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off, including vacation and holidays.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Converting Machine Set-up Operation, installation and removal of tools, blades, hole punchers, and rolls of material.Converting Machine Computer Operation Setting pre-defined machine parameters such as temperature, dwell, and pressure Trouble Shooting Machine Problems responding to alarms, analyzing problems, and making the necessary corrections.Preventive Maintenance Daily cleaning and routine maintenance to ensure the machine is properly functioning.Use of Travelers and Shop Floor System Required use of job travelers and computer based shop floor systems Read Drawings and Specifications Plans machine set-ups by reviewing and interpreting specifications, drawings, machine parameters, locations of notches; interpreting dimensions and tolerances.Training Required to assist, train, and/or mentor new hires and less experienced Production Assistants. Safety Required to maintain an organized, clean and safe work area while adhering to all quality practices, standard operating procedures and work instructions.Works with QC to perform First Article Inspections; to identify and correct in-process issues as they arise.Performs other duties, as directed.Qualifications: Strong ability to measure and understand how to make measurements using the imperial (inches and feet) and metric (mm and cm) systems. Ability to use and understand fractional and decimal equivalents of the imperial measurement system Ability to work and communicate with others at all levels of personnel. Effectively demonstrates team member competencies and participates in goal setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities. Basic English and Math skills, including: Reading, Writing, Addition, Subtraction, Division, Multiplication Basic Computer Skills General working knowledge of tools and machine equipmentMust be eligible to work in the United States without restriction.Preferred:Experience setting up, configuring and troubleshooting machines for production.Warehouse and forklift experience a plus Physical tasks of this position may include: Standing, lifting, kneeling, and/or bending over for long periods of time Working on the production floor (including wearing gowning, eye protection, hearing protection, and any other necessary personal protective equipment) The production floor is considered a sustained loud manufacturing environment that requires hearing protection.May be required to lift and/or move objects up to 50 lbs.
