If yes, we have an awesome opportunity to work side by side with BJ's Human Resources and People team as BJ's Human Resources Compliance Coordinator. - - Partnering with the Operations' leaders to drive efficiency and compliance within the onboarding, unemployment and people focused strategies will enable you to build strong connections with the teams that you would support. - You will have an opportunity to learn and develop while performing people centric tasks and responsibilities to ensure every team member has the best first day to their last day experience. Working closely with BJ's Human Resources, Talent Development, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards and Legal teams, this position will involve a full spectrum of supporting HR operational and administrative duties in the functional areas of onboarding and Form I-9/E-Verify compliance, HCM Workday data inquiries and testing, business record and subpoena responses and unemployment, and other general HR projects and responsibilities. - This position requires frequent contact with BJ's Restaurant Support Center and restaurant team members, management, vendors and some federal and state agencies. - This position requires an understanding of a variety of federal and state employment labor laws, BJ's policies, practices and procedures. Form I-9/E-Verify Management and Onboarding Compliance

  • Respond and troubleshoot inquiries about Form I-9 and E-Verify requirements for all restaurants across the country
  • Train restaurant managers on I-9/E-Verify requirements and system, including but not limited to: recognizing non genuine/invalid documentation and be aware of legal updates from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) / United States Citizenship and Immigrations Services (USCIS)
  • Arrange new restaurant teams and location in all systems and partners with Talent Development team during the mass hiring and create several analytical recaps during initial opening process
  • Assist restaurants with digital new hire paperwork, including resolving issues with our digital onboarding system through Workday, DocuSign and Equifax
  • Work with various vendors and relationship managers regarding system(s) performance and enhancements needed and partnering with the Operations team
  • Execute weekly onboarding reports to all Directors, Area Vice Presidents, and Vice Presidents of Operations
  • Partner with the Restaurant Risk Review team with audit recap reviews and follow up to resolve outstanding onboarding/Form I-9 issues Data Analysis and Reporting, Human Resources Capital Management System ("HCM")
    • Manage BJ's Policies and Procedures document updates in Workday/DocuSign, working with our Legal Department and HCM team
    • Maintain working knowledge of Workday HCM records and compile reports and data analysis utilizing a variety of internal and external databases and litigation-related reports
    • Analyze Workday Onboarding/Hire reports, working with the VPOs and DO/AVPs on compliance violation trends
    • Provide recommendations for additional training to the Senior Manager of HR Compliance
    • Partner with HCM and IT on testing validations on upgrades and new releases
    • Communicate regularly with field supervision to solicit feedback on Onboarding issues and suggestions on process improvement Unemployment Claim Administration
      • Provide detailed and accurate administrative support and responses for unemployment claims
      • Partner with Team Member Relations Managers and Director on any escalated claims
      • Prepare reporting on all unemployment claims that resulted in a loss or other compliance and educational issue with TMR team Human Resources and Other Responsibilities
        • Handle calls to the Human Resources Department and respond to basic HR-related questions or route to appropriate personnel
        • Respond timely and accurately to business record requests and subpoenas
        • Maintain and update personnel files
        • Additional projects as assigned by the Vice President of Human Resources, Senior Human Resources Compliance Manager, and Human Resource Managers in the field
          • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred and/or three (3) years of Human Resources experience
          • Strong HR compliance experience, specifically with Onboarding and Form I-9 requirements
          • Experience with Workday HCM, Equifax and E-Verify preferred
          • High sense of urgency and understanding of confidentiality/privacy requirements
          • Knowledge of various USCIS and other immigration-related employment updates from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) a plus
          • Strong interpersonal skills, problem solving skills, verbal skills, and written communication skills
          • Ability to make decisions on employment status, coaching managers in relation to authorization to work status
          • Experience with multi-unit, multi-state organizations
          • Knowledge of principles and best practices and policy interpretation
          • Strong organization, prioritization, and time management skills
          • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and manage heavy email volume
          • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Intermediate Excel knowledge a plus
          • Spanish proficiency a plus
          • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Equifax, and Infor/Lawson preferred
          • Flexibility to work weekends Salary: $25.00 - $31.25 per hour *commensurate with experience There is no relocation assistance provided for this position. Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. required. - Equal Opportunity Employer
