The Data Science & Analytics Department works with our Client's
Marketing team to identify business objectives to then develop
actionable insights that help optimize media tactics and strategy.
The team centralizes marketing data by managing a data warehouse,
develop and implement technical requirements for web analytics
tools, manage tagging, conduct A/B & multivariate testing, produce
reports/dashboards, develop models, and manage attribution.
The Director of Data Engineering will be responsible for
understanding functional and business requirements, defining
solutions, identifying ideal technology solutions, and building and
deploying technical solutions that satisfy business needs.
This person must have senior skills in all of our major skill
categories (marketing analytics, application development, and ETL),
and expert-level skills in at least one of these areas.
Our primary languages are Python and Spark SQL and we make heavy
use of AWS platform and services.
The Director will mentor direct reports and other junior team
members. Successful in leadership, mentoring, client contact, and
intra-team communications, this person will fulfill a key
leadership role within the Data Science & Analytics team.
Provide input as needed for scoping, project planning, risk
management, and budget planning.
Ability to lead a small team of developers and coordinate with
product and project managers to ensure accurate status
communication and delivery timing.
Promulgate coding conventions, best practices and documentation

Manage the data engineering, modelers, and programmers for all
Advise and consults on technical implementations,
Responsible for responding to technical and security evaluations
as required by client. Works closely with all clients, partners,
vendors, or fellow agencies providing data or data feeds to
Maintain and is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of
the Innocean Data Warehouse, and any other in-house data sets
required for client business. Help the SVP grow business within
current client roster and adding to roster.
Write and communicate clearly to non-data or non-technical
audiences, especially complex concepts and methodologies used to
develop a sound technical infrastructure for the Agency.
Requirements Knowledge of how to architect organize a Big Data
5 to 7 years’ experience with database development including
sophisticated SQL coding techniques. Postgres preferred.
5 to 7 years’ experience with Python and other high-level
languages such as Java or C#. A predilection toward clean
Experience calling RESTful APIs to harvest Adobe Marketing
Cloud, Google Search, Facebook and other social media data.
Familiarity with OAuth2.
Experience with Big Data, ideally Spark SQL in the Databricks
Experience working with a cloud computing platform in particular
AWS, using EC2 and RDS.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially with
Familiarity with AI/Machine Learning libraries and their
University degree, ideally in the field of computer science,
engineering, or another rigorous technical discipline. Additional
relevant certifications (for example, on AWS) are a plus.
Ability to work collaboratively with team members

Experience with Adobe Marketing Cloud is desirable
