Additionally, TravisMathew is focused on the development of sustainable practices, challenging ourselves to discover innovations in design, production and technology.JOB OVERVIEWThe Manager, Materials is responsible for leading the innovation of materials and techniques that align with the company's strategic direction and drive growth. Additionally, this individual is responsible for managing costs and improving quality, sustainability, speed-to-market, and service.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Source and develop new fabrics and techniques that support brand evolution with premium and innovative fabrications
  • Source and develop seasonal trim items including buttons, labels, zippers, metal hardware
  • Qualify potential raw material suppliers that support brand innovation and company / management initiatives
  • Travel to local and overseas shows / raw material suppliers to source materials, identify new raw material suppliers and innovation capabilities
  • Manage the trim and fabric libraries
  • Manage deliverables for new fabric and trim developments, adhering to the seasonal Design and Development calendar
  • Manage approvals, documentation, and clear communications to all vendor partners to meet calendar deadlines
  • Manage all development files, reports for documentation, follow-up, tracking and seasonal recaps
  • Prepare and present material development trials with key stakeholders in seasonal adoption meeting, ensuring alliance with product initiatives to deliver proven and tested materials
  • Understand each new material and its limitations and capabilities to guide design team for future season development and usage
  • Demonstrate consistent progress season over season in fabric and trim sourcing and development initiatives and become the company expert in specific material categories
  • Serve as the "expert" to mill partners in relation to fabric selection for M&D and create valuable relationships with partners
  • Manage, develop, and mentor materials team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Proficient in PLM system(s)
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Ability to coach / lead and collaborate at all organizational levels
  • Ability to manage and mentor a team
  • Ability to prioritize workflow based on deadlines
  • Ability to problem solve and communicate all issues to applicable departments
  • Ability to travel internationally
  • Strong organizational skillsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    • Bachelor's Degree or technical trade school and / or equivalent
    • Minimum 8 years' experience in materials and / or product development
