Job Description:
Seeking a highly skilled and effective Group Sales Manager to
join our team!
This position will require flexibility, knowledge, the agility to
respond and adapt, see and meet the needs of the moment and the
team and keep the primary goal of recovery and team unity in mind.
This candidate will be an integral member of the team that leads
the charge in driving short term future business back into our
destination and our resort. This high performer will actively
manage groups opportunities with 10 - 25 guestrooms on peak nights
with the potential for a future geographic market when market
recovery dictates. This candidate will participate in the
continuing effort to deliver distinctively different guest
experiences and nurture lasting relationships with clients,
continually focused on building long-term, value-based client
relationships that enable achievement of optimum sales
objectives.Responsibilities Include:
- Respond to sales inquiries with accurate, efficient business
evaluation and prompt, measurable response times.
- Understand the overall market, competitors' strengths and
weaknesses, economic and industry trends, supply and demand etc.
and strategically sell against our competition.
- Take initiative to go beyond the ordinary to differentiate us
from the competition and create loyalty with a creative selling
style that allows your personality to lead the relationship.
- Understand fully the hotel amenities, venues and options and
provide recommendations to create authentic and distinctively
different experiences for our group guests.
- Produce accurate and well communicated proposals and written
confirmation to all clients
- Anticipate our guests' needs and respond promptly.
- Create, execute and support the implemental aspects of business
booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contract, client
correspondence).
- Maintain timely and accurate recording of activity to include
appointments, calls made and business leads.
- Partner with, understand and prioritize embedded relationships
with Hilton's National and Worldwide Sales team, local and regional
Destination Management team and intermediary partnerships within
the industry and Hilton.Identify and enthusiastically create new
contacts and develop sales leads through phone
solicitation/prospecting, sales calls, trade shows, etc. (when the
industry dictates a refocus in these areas) and contact potential
clients to build and nurture lasting business relationships.
Requirements:
- Experience: Previous experience in a sale coordinator or small
group sales management position with a minimum of at least one year
hotel experience.
- Flexibility: A strong candidate will operationally and
corporately understand the current climate of the industry and
adapt with flexibility and understanding to achieve revenue goals
with internal and external success among colleagues and
clients.
- Communication: Verbally articulate, excellent listening skills,
attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively in
English both verbally and through strong written
communication.
- Presentation: Professional demeanor in conduct and appearance,
ready and polished for pop-up site visits, unexpected meetings,
etc.
- Administration: Organization and the adherence to
property-specific SOP's, allowing for success and efficiency. An
ability to create, implement and analyze processes coupled with a
comprehensive knowledge of technical and managerial applications of
Delphi, Outlook, Excel, Microsoft Word at minimum.A qualified

the administrative requirements and ensures he/she is fulfilling
those needs as an integral part of the team. This candidate will be
adaptable, hungry, and ready to join a solid team that is cohesive,
communicative and determined to succeed together.Position may be
required to work varied schedule that may include evenings/nights,
weekends and holidays.Minimum of four years of college level
courses with an emphasis on business. Bachelor's degree in Hotel
Management, Business Administration, Marketing or Communications
preferred. Requires a minimum of two years' experience in hotel
