DescriptionChief Marketing Officer
Teacher Created Materials is a 45-year old, award-winning publisher of educational and trade books and digital products. Due to years of recent growth we are currently in need of a senior marketing professional to oversee marketing and advertising for all channels and imprints. The ideal candidate will have a stellar marketing pedigree as well as applicable experience in education, trade and consumer sales.
Reporting to the President and a member of the senior leadership team, this individual will join a dynamic and entrepreneurial organization that values creative thinking, with a focus on meeting and exceeding goals.

    Lead the planning, development, and execution of marketing initiatives to increase our brand presence and promise across different customer channels. Positively connect with various company stakeholders and support our multi-channel demand creation efforts across the country and around the world. Be a consistent voice for TCM and all imprints and divisions both internally and externally.

    • Build, maintain, and coach members of a high-performing marketing team.
    • Develop strategic marketing vision and goals for all channels to create loyalty to Teacher Created Materials, its products, and its brands both domestically and internationally.
    • Uphold, model, and communicate TCM core values.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to draft, review, and synchronize communication and ensure that consistent messaging is cascaded across the organization and to external audiences.
    • Oversee a growing publicity team and build brand presence across channels and throughout the local community and the wider education community.
    • Manage marketing content creation supported by an integrated content strategy to leverage and amplify all assets in campaigns, social media, via influencers, and on the website.
    • Prepare performance reports and share with relevant stakeholders.
    • Oversee budget creation, adherence, and ROI.
    • Plan and oversee select internal- and customer-facing events to share company vision and to build and strengthen relationships.
    • Collaborate with sales teams, Content Development, and senior management to ensure department activities align with business goals.
    • Develop and implement advertising and marketing initiatives to support the acquisition of new customers across a variety of sales channels.
    • Manage and continually evaluate external consultants for a variety of services.
    • Manage and continually evaluate software and platforms, including the CRM (Salesforce), to ensure tools are being used appropriately and to their full capacity.
    • Research market trends and competitors and synthesize information to make recommendations on entering new markets and share with relevant stakeholders.
      QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:

      • BA/BS and recommended 10 years of relevant professional work experience as a marketing leader; educational industry background desired, but not required.
      • Highly articulate, solid written and verbal communicator, and fast learner.
      • Proficiency with CRM, ideally Salesforce.
      • Proven ability to successfully manage multiple, competing priorities at one time.
      • Strong organizational and time management skills.
      • Works well independently and in a team setting.
      • Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite.
      • Domestic and potential international travel required. Must have current passport.

        Physical Requirements:

        • Walk, sit, and stand for extended periods of time.
        • Carry company products to and from meetings and training sessions.
        • Carry up to 50 lbs.
