You will apply your actuarial expertise to conduct and present
analytics on several fronts. Key projects include measuring the
performance of value-based / shared savings arrangements, internal
forecasting / budgeting, and demonstrating the Landmark value
proposition for current and prospective patients and business
partners.This position will be part the Landmark actuarial team, a
division of Optum Home and Community.Primary Responsibilities:
- Understand and interpret key drivers of health care trends
- Conduct and evaluate studies on pricing, utilization and health
care costs and manage the development of pricing methodologies and
assumptions
- Mentor and develop your elite team of actuaries and help them
create unique solutions to complex problems
- Design and run complex data programs to perform mathematical
analyses and actuarial modeling
- Analyze forecasts and trends and translate highly complex
concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
including senior leadersThe challenges here are significant. You'll

Qualifications:
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) credentials
- Bachelor's degree (preferably in an analytical field)
- Minimum of 6 years of actuarial experience within a healthcare
and/or managed care organization with significant experience in
Medicare products. Experience with value-based reimbursement
strategies and affordability initiatives preferred.
- Seasoned actuarial knowledge of best practices for evaluation,
modeling (cost, risk score and revenue) and analytics
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced
environment and lead projects with support from other team
members
- Strong business acumen, problem-solving, technical,
interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience programming in SAS, R, Python, and/or
SQL

Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California,
Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City, or Washington
residents is $101,200 to $184,000. Pay is based on several factors
including but not limited to education, work experience,
certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group
