Director of Culinary & InnovationLocation: BJ's Restaurants, Inc. - Restaurant Support Center in Huntington Beach, CAStatus: Full Time / ExemptThe Director of Culinary & Innovation will work to ensure Gold Standard menu execution and innovation, while minimizing cost. The Director will work with our SVP of Culinary to develop and analyze menu items that maximizes Guest value and utilization of ingredients. The Director of Culinary & Innovation will partner with Supply Chain and suppliers to set early guardrails and ensure quality of BJ's menu items. They will work to manage costs and complexity of recipes while supporting culinary innovation.Responsibilities include:--- Innovate and develop recipes driven by the Culinary Strategy and Concept Essence--- Lead the new product development process from concept through commercialization--- Provide guardrails and feedback to our supplier partners to keep projects on budget and aligned with financial targets--- Identify key cost savings opportunities across our SKU list and partner with supply chain to develop/discover alternative products that provide reduced cost while maintaining gold standard food quality--- Partner with supply chain to evaluate/develop alternatives to existing SKUs when products are no longer availableKnowledge & Skills Required:--- BA or BS/MS in Culinary Arts or Food Science--- 5+ years' experience in recipe/product development--- Excellent functional/technical skills, in particular knowledge of Culinary Arts and Food Technology--- 3+ years managerial, mentoring and development skills supervising teams or individuals, with the ability to lead and interact with cross-functional teamsTo apply, please submit an online application at Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. required.BJ's Restaurants, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
