The successful candidate will play a key role in this mission in supporting a dynamic and passionate team of attorneys, engineers, designers and product leaders.

Essential Functions:

• Interface with R&D and product teams to identify, review and analyze patentable inventions and prior art.
• Draft and prosecute U.S. patent applications in coordination with engineers and industrial designers.
• Conduct freedom to operate analyses and advising and executing on patent strategies.
• Monitor the Company's patent portfolio for patent marking purposes and potential licensing opportunities.
  
  Special Skills Required:
  • Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (or pending registration)
  • BS in engineering or science, preferably mechanical engineering, physics or material science.
  • 2-5 years of patent-related experience.
    Language Skills:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors.
    
    Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
    
    Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
    
    Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have some knowledge of international patent classification systems, basic docketing platforms, patent searching tools and Microsoft Office applications (e.g. WORD, EXCEL, Outlook and SharePoint).
