Job Description:

The Engineering OPEX Manager is responsible for supporting the Engineering organization in its Continuous Improvement initiatives across the Divisions of Safran Cabin. The Engineering OPEX Manager is responsible for supporting and energizing the various divisions and local sites, leveraging and driving results using Safran key improvement practices (Lean-Sigma, QRQC, Problem Solving) to positively impact customer satisfaction, delivery & quality performance, as well as financial performance. He/she will provide professional and technical guidance across Cabin to ensure that effective engineering standard practices, standard processes and standard procedures are developed, implemented and adhered to for all divisions.

This position will report to the Engineering OPEX Director, as part of Cabin/Core Engineering. He/she shall work closely with field and leadership at all levels to ensure results throughout the organization.
1) Support the deployment and proper usage of Safran improvement methodologies across engineering
2) Provide improvement methodological support during crisis resolution
3) Develop a strong continuous improvement culture across Engineering, through a network of committed Sponsors, focal and successful projects
4) Propose continuous improvement annual objectives supporting the Engineering strategy, and monitor its progress
5) Define, scope and structure the continuous improvement transverse projects to be executed at Engineering level
6) Support the central and local leadership teams to ensure continuous improvement projects are aligned with their strategic objectives and business requirements.
7) Develop and guide the Engineering continuous improvement training programs
8) Develop engineering internal trainers as required, as per the Safran & Safran Cabin policies and processes.
9) Ensure that continuous improvement projects executed across Engineering deliver the targeted results, and contribute to Customers satisfaction and financial performance.
10) Build the network of Engineering Improvement Teams, leverage on synergies and best practices, and develop plans to address identified common weaknesses.
11) Ensure that completed continuous improvement projects benefit the whole organization: access and cross-fertilization.
12) Perform all other duties as assigned.

Experience:
--- 10+ years of experience in the following areas: Engineering, Continuous Improvement
--- Prior leadership experience
--- Lean Six Sigma certifications

Computer Skills:
--- Proficiency in the use of common software packages including MS Office suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint

Knowledge:
--- Solid understanding of Engineering, Project Management, Lean Principles, Six Sigma, and Financial acumen
--- Knowledge of the group, its management system, processes and organizations
--- Knowledge of an operational entity processes and operations
--- Knowledge of the leverage of change management in complex organizations
--- Knowledge of the basics in terms of techno-economic management and performance management


Other Skills:
--- Black Belt or Master Black Belt certified (Safran)
--- Ability to manage cross functionally with direct and indirect influence
--- Ability to Coach and facilitate individually and at the large-scale level
--- Capacity to drive and manage networks
--- Capacity to operate in a pluri-disciplinary, inter-cultural and international environment
--- Long term vision and capacity to promote breakthrough actions
--- Capacity to understand business issues
--- Capacity to understand leverages of performance improvement
--- Capacity to do benchmarking
--- Practical experiences of Safran tools and methods including Lean Sigma and the management of complex projects
--- Being familiar with the organization practices of a progress plan
--- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work directly with senior leaders
--- Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills,
--- Advanced program management skills including the ability to adapt to a changing environment and manage a wide variety of projects on time and within budget
--- Able to manage, motivate and influence teams with and without a direct line of authority
--- Receptive of feedback and quick to apply changes
