We have the following position at our San Bernardino division: Material Recovery Facility – Equipment Maintenance Helper Will perform inspections, cleaning, maintenance and repairs of Material Recovery Facility equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Will follow safe work practices and adhere to all safety rules and practices. Will assist and support the Equipment Maintenance team and activities. Will perform inspections, cleaning, maintenance and repairs of Material Recovery Facility equipment not limited to balers, conveyors, screens, magnets, etc. Will perform repair and maintenance of facility building and grounds Will use hand tools and other equipment for the performance of these activities Will use welder, torch, and grinder in the performance of their job Will work in support of Equipment Maintenance team and independently on smaller jobs/tasks Will timely and accurately document work performed on Fleetmate work orders Will perform other repairs and duties as assigned by management. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Have good interpersonal skills Have good mechanical and electrical skills Have good verbal and written communication skills. Have good judgment skills. Have good organizational and cleanliness skills to ensure a safe and organized work area. Be able to use hand tools, portable power tools, and other equipment as needed. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: 1 year of previous equipment maintenance and repair experience is required. Vocational school and/or training in equipment maintenance and repair desired. Previous experience in the use of hand and small power tools/equipment. PHYSICAL: Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for long periods of time. Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. WORKING CONDITIONS: Will be exposed to moderate noise and dust levels. Will work in outdoor areas and be exposed to weather conditions—heat, cold, rain, and wind.
