Company DescriptionSouthNorte Brands LLC is a privately owned producer of tequila based ready to drink cocktails and Mexican inspired beer. The company produces and sells its products through distributors to mass retail stores in Southern California.Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Controller with experience in the liquor, beer or wine business to handle all accounting and planning functions. The company is based in Huntington Beach, CA and this is full-time on-site position.This position reports to the President of SouthNorte with dotted line reporting to the Group Controller and CFO. You will be responsible for all day-to-day accounting, planning and cash flow forecasting. You will be working closely with Purchasing, reconciling vendor invoices and purchase orders, adjusting inventory and assisting with warehousing and delivery problems.Key Responsibilities:Maintain books on QuickBooks; provide monthly P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements to managementManage all Accounting operations, which include paying vendors, issuing PO's, invoicing customers and collection, payroll submissions to third party providerMaintain accurate inventory in Ekos that matches with warehouses and QB Balance Sheet, and make sure the Cost of Goods Sold is correct on the P&LVerify and deposit cash and checks into bank account, reconcile bank statementsFile monthly, quarterly and/or annual returns with IRS, FTB, TTB, CDTFA, AZ Liquor (1099's, Alcohol Excise, Manufacturing, Sales & Use, and CRV taxes)All licenses must be in compliance with Federal & State mandatesReview agreements with vendors, clients and insurance brokerQuarterly update of beer and cocktail costs and pricingAnnual and short-term forecasting of P&L and Cash FlowQualificationsMinimum five plus years of Accounting Manager or Controller experienceExperience in a startup preferredStrong accounting and cash management skills utilizing GAAPAbility to understand operations and work with a broad range of peopleAbility to analyze and give recommendations on business operations both current and futureStrong Excel spreadsheet skillsGood negotiation skills to work with vendors and distributorsAdditional Information
